The proposed project includes development of up to 566 residential units comprised of apartments, detached small-lot single-family homes and 55 and older age restricted single-family homes and some commercial mixed use development with retail. The developer, Shea Management Properties, is asking for City approval to amend the current City Plans for a 80 acre parcel bound by Tassajara Road, Interstate 580, Brannigan Street and Gleason Drive to allow this project.
The original anticipated land use for this large parcel of prime Dublin real estate was predominately for commercial and retail business. It assigned only 12.8 acres for 261 housing units. Shea Properties original development plan proposed 650 homes. After public sentiment arose against the plan, Shea decreased it to 566 homes which is still double from the original land use plan.

Enough is Enough! We do not need more high density housing. A published report shows Dublin is over 500% of the RHNA (Regional Housing Needs Allocation) numbers for high end housing. This 79 acre parcel of land is the Gateway into East Dublin. It should be a beacon for the City and a showpiece as you enter the City. Is more housing what we need? Absolutely Not.
Thanks go out to all the residents who got involved. There were over 1,000 emails and over 5,000 signatures on a petition sent to the Mayor and Council members. Your voices and action did make a difference. On 6/22 City Council rejected this project by 4-1 vote.
