We oppose Valley Christian Center's proposed huge sports stadium and amphitheater they want to build directly above neighboring homes. Why would Valley Christian spend about $15 million for a football stadium for 107 high school students without a football team? The sports stadium will permanently impact over a thousand surrounding homeowners if City Council approval is granted.
Please join us in challenging the
Valley Christian project because the results will negatively affect your ability to live quietly and enjoy the peaceful environment you have come to enjoy for so many years. Please join us in challenging senseless development, because once these projects are approved, the resulting damage is permanent !

Valley Christian Center submitted its master project plan to the City in 2003. The related Environmental Impact Report was also done in 2003. Fifteen years later, Valley Christian Center made a substantial revision to its master plan which included a 1,100 capacity football stadium with amplified sound, lights and an amphitheater which will be used for plays, concerts, sermons, and other gatherings, all resulting in increased traffic, noise and light pollution. The stadium will be built on a ridge right above the rooftops of several established neighborhoods.
There have been significant changes in West Dublin the last 15 years, thus a current Environmental Impact Report would be expected before making a serious decision that will affect many surrounding homeowner's lives FOREVER. Approving a massive project without current information is a dangerous gamble. Residents are justifiably concerned. Some residents questioned the data presented in the City Noise Assessment Report and hired two (2) independent sound expert companies who submitted a study, technical reports and analysis that also questioned the City's data. There was substantial evidence that the Valley Christian project will have a significant impact on the environment, therefore a new EIR is justified per the California Environmental Quality Act.
In 2016, Valley Christian Center contacted a select few neighbors in the surrounding area but did not do a full community outreach to inform all the nearby residents of the new expansion project. Substantial number of impacted communities did not find out about it until a notice for public hearing. Those who heard about the project started to communicate their concerns on the Planning Commission and the City Council. One of those letters provided significant legal data supporting and demanding a new Environmental Impact Report so that the project's impact on the environment would be properly assessed, evaluated and mitigated.
The modified master plan to include VCC’s project was approved by the Planning Commission and was submitted to the City Council for consideration on September 4. The City Council voted for continuance so that Valley Christian Center and those who were concerned residents could enter into mitigation discussions. The parties met twice, but no meaningful outcome was obtained. Shortly thereafter, West Dublin Alliance was formed and a Land Use/Environmental Law attorney Stuart Flashman, was hired to represent the Alliance. Mr. Flashman's letter dated on October 18 to City Council stated that unless adequate mitigation measures were agreed upon by City, VCC and West Dublin Alliance in written binding agreement then West Dublin Alliance must insist that a full new EIR be required.
On Feb 5, City Council approved project. West Dublin Alliance filed a law suit on Mar 6,2018.
